About The PMI Retail SIG

Retail SIG membership opens up a world of opportunity for project management professionals in the retail industry. Members may choose involvement at many levels:

  • Collaborate with peers in the retail industry, exchanging ideas and experiences on a global level.
  • Access and develop state-of-the-art industry information.
  • Attend seminars and workshops on leading edge topics.
  • Increase your professional exposure through networking and project participation.
  • Gain leadership experience as a contributing member or board member of an organization that is shaping the future of the retail industry.

If you are interested in becoming a member, you must be a member of PMI.  Simply go to the PMI website and either sign up or login.  On your profile page you can choose to add a SIG to your membership profile.  There is a $20 fee to join our SIG.  If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact our Membership Vice Chair.

Mission

Our mission is to establish and promote the use of project management in the retail industry, and to provide our members with the knowledge and expertise to effectively manage change. We aim to fulfill our mission by providing networking and educational resources for retail-industry project management professionals throughout the world.

Objectives

The Retail SIG is uniquely positioned to maximize the value of project management expertise in the retail arena. Toward this goal, our objectives are to:

  • Establish a worldwide network of retail project management professionals.
  • Create forums for the free exchange of retail project management ideas, solutions, experiences, and applications.
  • Develop and disseminate consistent standards of project management terminology and practices among retail project management professionals.
  • Provide project management information and education to Retail SIG professionals.
  • Promote recognition of the economic value of professional project management among executive leadership in the retail industry.
